Announces the Availability of Small Research Grant Funds
This announcement is a reminder funding is available from the IMDTRF. We are looking for proposals relevant to our Mission Statement:
“To fund original research worldwide that contributes to the body of evidence related to the usefulness and limitations of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.”
Proposals must be submitted by 1 June 2009 and the criteria and format for submission is fully and clearly detailed on the Foundation’s website (www.mdtresearchfoundation.org).
All proposals meeting the criteria are reviewed by the Foundation’s Review Section for significance and appropriateness to the Mission Statement, scientific rigour, and feasibility.
Funding decisions are made by 1 November 2009 at the latest. The grant is for a minimum of USD2,000 and a maximum of USD10,000. These monies cannot be used to fund the salary of the principal investigator and must be used for new projects.
One of the original aims of the Foundation was to encourage novice researchers, such as working clinicians, to engage in relatively small pieces of research as a way of entering the research field. However, this can be a daunting task if you have never engaged in research before and to this end we would encourage collaboration between clinical and academic colleagues.
